Question Red Gel like cover on puncture marks: squash, muskmelon & green pepers????

Some of the punctures are like two (2) fang marks an inch & smaller, while the muskmelon (Sakata's Sweet) had only one puncture in the bottom circle (almost missed it but the Red Gel got my attention). On top of each puncture is this Red Gel drop. I cautiously tasted the opposite side of the Sakata's Sweet muskmelon and it had a chemical taste. I spit it out immediately.

The Chersonskaua Squash has like an inch fang mark with the Red Gel over each puncture. The squash is hanging on it's vine on the north end of the plot over the cement squares border. It was hanging about two (2) inches above the border.

The muskmelon was laying on the cement block border.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is puncturing the fruit/vegetables and leaving a Red Gel drop on the puncture and/or smeared over a scratch????

The Chersonskaua Squash I've left on the vine but threw out everything else.
