vermiculite?
spagnum peat moss? compost? perlite? potting soil (brand)? pine bark fines? garden soil? anything I've left out? What mix do you use? I'm specifically asking for container vege's like tomatoes or cuc's, but in general also. Tom |

I don't suppose you have access to Pro-Mix?
4 cu ft of peat moss and vermiculite, compressed down to 2.2 cu ft for $12. Add a bag of shredded pine bark and I can stretch it to 50 gallons. If you are growing tomatoes in 12 gallon pots, that's 4 pots for $14. Not bad. ![]() Avoid the "moisture control" stuff like Miracle Gro. It holds water too well. |

Wish they had Jungle Growth here in Houston. I've heard good things about it from folks in Albuquerque.

I recall getting something from Lowes a couple of years ago called Jungle Grow (or Growth). Nice stuff -- unfortunately, they never had it back in stock again in my area. Jungle Grow(th) seems to be a popular choice for some of the folks at Dave's Garden who do a lot of Earthbox growing. |
