A bit of patience, and I've got stuff listed! It is a little laggy for me, but worked OK!

WI LO M,
How did it turn out? Did it all work in the end? The way I look at this is that the first year of something new leads to things going wrong and every year from this point forward should yield a better and better experience. Have a great winter!! Chris |

I think the intention is for each variety to have one good solid "reference" description and then every other lister can just put "me too" kind of thing.
What has happened is all these varieties in the Yearbook the original lister has passed away or simply stopped posting, so the original "reference" is gone. All you have left is the short descriptions from subsequent listers. How many varieties in the Yearbook have no significant background or information? Just "delicious early red tomato". "Large pink beefsteak". That tells me nothing. |

I agree with Feldon, about the original source of a seed. It ought to help, if the past yearbooks going forward are searchable to discover original source.
As an example I was doing some research today for a past SSE member on some items he originally sent/discovered/listed to SSE. I found 5 items that he originally listed, and only one still listed him as the original source, that means there are 4 items with possible incorrect or no source information. Dean |

Hello,
Is the 2010 yearbook up as was stated in the latest Fall Mailing or did they mean that the 2009 Yearbook was? I easily registered for the forum and then problems struck when I tried to register for the Yearbook per the seedsaver emails. I watched the letter cases, wrote down my passwords, filled out the information that was asked for and I STILL keep getting ERROR messages for the Yearbook! I even tried I forgot my password function and it came up blank. So something is NOT RIGHT! Since I am at work during the hours that I'm supposed to call the Seed Savers office to report my problem, that is not going to be possible until next week. I sent three emails about my problem but no answer yet. Is there anyway else to resolve this? Heather

Hi Heather,
Yes, the 2010 Yearbook is online now. Laura will probably be along soon to help, but in the meantime, I'll see if I can offer a suggestion. I had the same problem, and the reply I got to my email asked if I had chosen a password that was more than 7 characters, and advised me that it can only be a maximum of 7. The registration instructions never said anything about a maximum, LOL, only a minimum of 5, so the password I tried to use the first time had about 10 characters. After Laura reset it for me to one that was only 6 characters, I had no further trouble at all. So until Laura comes along with a better idea, maybe you could check your password and make sure it's at least 5 but not more than 7 characters? Unfortunately, if your password was too long, Laura or someone else might need to reset it for you before you can finish registering.

I had the same problem with the password. My long password worked just great for the forums and other Seed Saver stuff, but not for the yearbook. After many emails back and forth with Brad, I am now using a different password for the yearbook than I am using for the forum.
Brad actually told me that if I really wanted my long password, he could change it special just for me. But he either forgot, or he was unable to do it. I told Brad that I really wanted my long password because there was a long story behind this password. It all started back in about 1989 when I first got started in the Seed Saver Exchange with an old family heirloom. I decided to offer my seeds and have been hooked on Seed Saving ever since. So, when I first started doing email back in the pre-historic days of email and the internet, I was confronted with my first experience of creating my own password. I actually gave my password choice some real thought, and I decided to use the name of the family heirloom as my password. This same password has now become my default password for all my non-secure stuff. I have kept this password because it us unique yet easy to remember. (I use other passwords for my secure stuff.) So, this password is dear to me because of Seed Savers. So, when I get onto the forums, I can use this "special" password. But, I cannot even use my special password for the Seed Saver yearbook. So, I told my story to Brad as a background to why I would like him to give me a special exemption to use my too-long password, but so far he has not been able to let me use my Seed Saver password from its long history on the "new" Seed Saver yearbook stuff. |

Hey Heather...
I haven't seen your emails, which address were they going to?? I will email you with a reset password and log in instructions... watch your inbox! The site doesn't have a max length, but the yearbook site does, so it can be a bit misleading... Anyway, watch your inbox and I'll send instructions... today... Thanks! Laura

Thank you for all your help.
I now can access the yearbook. However is anyone else running into the Server error '/' application screen when you are in the yearbook? Sometimes when I switch between offerings or always when I try to access the pictures I get a Server error message. Heather |
